FAQ

Questions, answered properly

The WhatsApp Business API is full of rules that cost money when you get them wrong. Here is what actually applies, without the sales gloss.

Do I need to be approved by Meta to use the WhatsApp Business API?

Yes. Sending on the official WhatsApp Business Platform requires a Meta Business account, a verified business and a registered phone number. Zhat Convex walks you through Meta Business verification, number registration and message-template approval. Note that the green "Official Business Account" tick is granted at Meta's sole discretion based on how well known your brand is — no provider can promise it.

How does pricing work, and what does Meta charge on top?

They are two separate things, and we keep them separate. You pay Zhat Convex a flat platform subscription for the software — Starter $49, Pro $99 or Business $199 per month. Meta's messaging charges are metered on top: WhatsApp bills per delivered message, priced by the recipient's country and the message category. Zhat Convex meters every message against Meta's own billable flag and draws it from a WhatsApp budget you top up, using a published country-by-category rate card. There is no invented "5,000 messages included" allowance — you see what each message actually costs.

What is the WhatsApp 24-hour customer service window?

It is the 24 hours after a customer's most recent message to you, during which you may reply with free-form messages. Inside that window, service replies are free — Meta does not charge for them, and neither do we. Once it closes you can only re-open the conversation with an approved message template, which is billable. Zhat Convex tracks the window on every conversation, shows agents how long is left, and requires a template automatically once it has expired.

Does Zhat Convex integrate with Bitrix24?

Yes — natively, and in both directions. Zhat Convex creates leads, deals and contacts in Bitrix24 from WhatsApp conversations, syncs lead status back, and mirrors your employees and departments. A field-mapping editor lets you decide exactly which WhatsApp fields land in which Bitrix24 fields, so you are not forced into someone else's schema. Zoho CRM is supported the same way, and the connector layer is pluggable for more CRMs.

What does the AI Chatbot cost?

The AI Chatbot is an optional add-on that answers customers automatically from a knowledge base you upload. It costs $9.99/month on Starter (3,000 AI chats included), $19.99/month on Pro (8,000 chats) and $34.99/month on Business (15,000 chats). Past the included quota the bot keeps answering and extra chats bill at a flat $6.99 per 1,000 on every plan — usage never cuts off mid-conversation.

Can I send images, videos and PDFs?

Yes. Images, video, audio, documents and location all work, subject to WhatsApp's media type and size limits. Media is the core of the platform, not an add-on.

Do customers have to opt in before I can message them?

Yes. WhatsApp requires recipient opt-in before you send them business-initiated messages. Zhat Convex provides opt-in capture through click-to-chat links and QR codes, and honours opt-outs automatically.

Can I use my existing WhatsApp number?

A phone number can only be active on one WhatsApp product at a time, so a number currently used in the WhatsApp Business app must be migrated to the Business Platform before it can send through Zhat Convex. Once migrated, you can run multiple numbers in one workspace — one on Starter, three on Pro and ten on Business.

Is my data secure?

Every workspace is isolated from every other. Credentials are encrypted at rest, inbound webhooks are signature-verified before they are trusted, access is controlled by six distinct roles, and every privileged action is written to an immutable audit log.
